What To Know

  • Gen V star Jaz Sinclair reacts to the show’s cancellation and dedicates her performance to late costar Chance Perdomo in touching tribute.
  • The reaction comes just as Sinclair’s Marie will appear in the final season of The Boys.

Gen V star Jaz Sinclair is sharing her reaction to the show’s cancellation as her character Marie is set to appear on the final season of The Boys.

As viewers may recall, The Boys spinoff, which followed students at the supe college known as Godolkin University, was canceled after two seasons at Prime Video amid the flagship series’ final run. Sinclair played Marie, a supe who can manipulate blood, making her a powerful adversary against any threats.

Taking to Instagram, Sinclair shared a selection of memories, including videos and photos from the making of Gen V, which debuted back in 2023. “My first audition for Gen V was January of 2021. Normally, I do a tape and forget about it forever, but for some reason I dreamt about this one for a month,” Sinclair wrote. “When I got the call (after 5 more auditions) I screamed and cried and jumped up and down. I felt the kind of head-to-toe excitement that you only feel when something is all the way right.”

She went on to write, “I can’t possibly sum up the last 5 years of joys, challenges, loss, laughter, late nights, and friendships in a post. But what I will say is that I am truly honored to have gotten to be your Marie. She is fierce and flawed and powerful as hell. And as a woman, particularly a woman of color, it brings me so much pride to have gotten to embody such a multifaceted and badass character.”

“Every time one of you fine folks say hi to me on the street and let me know you were moved by Marie I positively beam, that’s what it’s all for, I think,” Sinclair continued. “To get to see a piece of your heart reflected in another. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.”

Sinclair concluded her tribute to her role with a dedication to her late costar Chance Perdomo, “~For Chance,” she wrote. Perdromo played Andre in Season 1, a fellow student at Godolkin, who died prior to the filming of Season 2. Perdromo also appeared in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina together, which gives her dedication even more meaning.

As mentioned above, Sinclair will appear in the latest episode of The Boys alongside Gen V costar London Thor, who plays Jordan. Their appearance was teased in promos for the latest episode and could potentially mark the last time fans see the characters onscreen. Stay tuned for their appearance in the latest episode, and let us know what you think of Sinclair’s sweet dedication in the comments section.
