  • Steve Burton has accused his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin, of preventing him from spending time with their 11-year-old daughter, Brooklyn.
  • Burton claims Gustin refuses to acknowledge his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom.
  • The General Hospital star alleges Gustin has broken the terms of their custody agreement.

Steve Burton has reportedly accused his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin, of “blatant parental alienation” in regards to their 11-year-old daughter, Brooklyn.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the General Hospital star claimed that Gustin is alienating him from spending time with his daughter by creating obstacles and causing conflict. Burton also alleged that Gustin has issues with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom, saying that she refuses to “acknowledge Michelle’s role as [his] wife.”

Burton and Gustin married in January 1999 and had three children together: Makena Grace (born 2003), Jack Marshall (born 2006), and Brooklyn Faith (born 2014). The pair separated in 2022 after Burton revealed he was not the father of the child Gustin was pregnant with. Their divorce was finalized in December 2023.

In January 2025, Burton announced his engagement to Lundstrom, and the couple tied the knot in May of that same year. Lundstrom has two daughters from a previous relationship. In the court documents, Burton claimed that Gustin refuses to acknowledge Lundstrom’s daughters as “step-sisters” to Brooklyn.

Burton and Gustin previously agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of Brooklyn. The soap actor also agreed to pay his ex-wife $12,500 per month in child support, which would drop to $10,000 per month after April 2024. The custody agreement was amended in January 2025.

According to Us Weekly, Burton claimed in a May filing that Gustin “systematically refused to honor” the previously agreed-upon terms that granted him summer visits and two weeks of vacation with Brooklyn.

The court docs included text messages, including one from Burton to Gustin which read, “This is manipulation. You signed an order. So the response should have been, ‘Hey brook your dad has you a lot in the summer’ … but I know your priority is not having her spend time with us.”

His text continued, “Activities do not trump time with family… again this is something that you signed and you decided to neglect that and now put it on Brook… and now you get to say dad won’t let you… when you should have said it’s not gonna work. So now you’ll be able to say you made a mistake and we should schedule my weeks.”

Gustin denied Burton’s accusations in a response text, writing, “No it’s not. I told you she wanted to do jr. guards. You knew this.”
