Respected Actor Nicholas Pryor Died At Age 89
Actor Nicholas Pryor is dead at the age of 89. He had a long career in acting and was well respected among his fellow co-stars. One of his most memorable roles was starring in Risky Business with Tom Cruise. He played his father in the iconic movie.
He also played Victor Collins on General Hospital and its spinoff Port Charles. Nicholas was Jon Lindstrom’s father on the soap. It was Jon who went to social media to confirm the news of his passing. The sad post featured a black-and-white photo from the actor’s younger days. It read:
It is my solemn task to announce the passing of the great Nicholas Pryor. Nick was an Actor’s actor, and an exceptional friend. He passed on October 7, 2024, surrounded by loving family. Nick may be best known for his role as the father of #TomCruise in #RiskyBusiness, or as the same to #RobertDowneyJr in #LessThanZero.
Jon went on to share other remarkable credits to Nicholas Pryor’s career. He worked with actors such as Ewan McGregor, Jack Nicholson and Kurt Russell.
He said Nicholas had over 60 years of working in the industry including TV, movies and even Broadway. However, to Jon, Nicholas was a friend. He said, “He was a mentor, a sounding board, a trusted confidant, and even a father-figure beyond.”
Jon also shared that Nicholas was one of the funniest people one would ever meet as evidenced by his hilarious role as a passenger in the movie Airplane!
He Will Be Deeply Missed
Nicholas Pryor is survived by his beautiful wife Christina, his daughter Stacey, and his two grandchildren, Gus and Avril.
Those who knew and loved Nicholas will miss him terribly. Along with the above-mentioned credentials, he also participated in The Happy Hooker and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1.
