Ginger Zee appeared on ABC World News Tonight With David Muir with just minutes to spare after experiencing travel delays.

Zee reported live from Richburg, South Carolina, on the Tuesday, June 16, episode of ABC‘s Good Morning America. The meteorologist visited the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety to highlight how tech is being used to protect homes and cars from hail damage.

Following the broadcast, Zee headed to the airport to fly to Chicago for that night’s episode of ABC World News Tonight. In a series of Tuesday Instagram Story posts, Zee revealed that she and her colleague were short on time upon arriving in the Windy City.

“I just want to do a little update just so you can understand how travel goes for us a lot of times,” Zee stated in an Instagram Story video. “We have made it to O’Hare. It is about, I think, 5 p.m. Eastern Time, so our show starts in 90 minutes. Dan is over there trying to get our gear because the bags have not arrived.”

Zee noted that the duo still had to pick up their rental car and set up on location for her appearance on the show. “So, if you see me on there, it’s called a miracle,” she quipped.

In follow-up Instagram Stories, Zee shared clips of the pair traveling through the Chicago O’Hare International Airport and picking up their rental car, as well as a video of herself doing her makeup in the car on the way to their shooting site.

In her final Instagram Story update, Zee revealed that they were all set up and ready to go for the show “with ten minutes to spare.”

On Tuesday night’s ABC World News Tonight broadcast, Zee reported on tropical storm and tornado threats across the country, including severe storm watches in the Great Lakes area. As Zee signed off, host David Muir noted that Zee was reporting from “outside Chicago.”

Zee traveled south of Chicago for the Wednesday, June 17, episode of GMA, reporting live from Joliet, Illinois. In a Wednesday Instagram post, Zee noted that she and her crew were “heading south into the TORNADO WATCH In Illinois,” adding, “Be safe today everyone.”

In the clip, she stated, “Hey, y’all! I am here in Illinois. We couldn’t make it any further south last night ’cause of our travel situation. But we are going to head south after all of our programming today and get into the threat.”

I’m in Peoria now but live in Springfield so I’m keeping an eye on your updates!!” one user commented underneath the post. Another added, “Ginger, I envy you so much. I couldn’t do what you do for a living and you’re brilliant! I’m in NWI and my anxiety is through the roof!”

Someone else shared, “Be safe, Ginger!! We’re glad you’re here with us and keeping us informed!!” A different person posted, “Thank you for the in-depth details and be careful.”
