Deborah Roberts told the outlet that it takes work to be successful. In her interview, the Good Morning America anchor said:

Oh, my gosh. I think the biggest thing is not to tell anybody that you have it figured out, because we don’t. We are working at it constantly. We are a work in progress, We’ve been married 28, almost 29 years. It’s not easy. And, life is all about growing and evolving and sometimes compromising and sometimes not”

Al Roker’s wife concluded that couples need “a desire” to be “committed.” Working on a relationship “makes a big difference.”

During an interview with Rachael Shay two years ago, the Today Show’s weatherman explained that relationships need a lot of care. Did you know that he planned his proposal to Deborah for a full year? It took him so long to pop the question, that Deborah claimed she was “going to break up with him.” Even Al’s sister told him to let her go if he didn’t want to commit. Well, he did commit, and all in all, it seems that it worked out very well.
