When Great American Media, the Great American Family parent company, announced the layoffs of around 13 executives including the Chief Marketing Officer, they also took this as an opportunity to share some programming news. The network that is led by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott is going to ramp up its mystery series. This includes more movies with Candace Cameron Bure.
Here is the latest news.

Great American Family Ramping Up Mysteries
Hallmark Mystery is not the only American mystery network. Now, Great American Family is ramping up its mysteries as well. According to Deadline, the network is planning on the “launch of mystery franchises” in Q1, which is now. They are “original movies centered on the lighter side of mysteries and whodunnits and starring fan favorites from the network’s family of talent.”
The network has already released some mysteries. This includes The Abigail Broukes Mysteries. This was written and stars Ansley Gordon. It is believed that there will be more of this series. Gordon is well-known for her movies with Jonathan Stoddard including A Christmas Frequency.
Next, Candace Cameron Bure starred in the 2024 movie The Ainsley MacGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Winemaker. She has already filmed The Ainsley MacGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarnmaker. Also, she is set to film The Ainsley MacGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Watchmaker.
These books are based on Candace Havens’ cozy mystery series. Ainsley MacGregor is a Chicago criminologist who is burnt out. Therefore, she returns to River, Texas, her home town. There, she teaches criminology at the local community college at night. By day, she owns a craft market called Bless Your Arts.
These light mysteries are available to stream on Great American Pure Flix.

No Information On Other GAF Mysteries
The Great American Family promise of multiple mystery franchises launching in Q1, which is between January and March, is a mystery. The network mentions this release. However, there are not dates or movie franchise names announced as of yet. The network has a cornucopia of stars that would do well with mysteries. For example, Jill Wagner starred in Hallmark’s most popular franchise Mystery 101. Also, Danica McKellar starred in the Matchmaker Mysteries. Perhaps the biggest series of all was Lori Loughlin’s Garage Sale Mysteries.
Could any of these stars revive any of their former franchises? Or could Jill, Danica, or Lori start a new franchise altogether? Right now, all of this seems possible. But, the network has not shared any details on what fans could expect.

Great American Family fans, are you looking forward to seeing more mysteries starring Candace Cameron Bure and others?
