After Jill and Derick Dillard announced that baby number three is on the way, fans began asking how he will support his growing family. It’s been years since the Dillards were last on TLC’s Counting On, so they have to find some way to pay the bills. Derick has graduated from law school, but has he passed the bar and landed a job yet?
Jill and Derick have both talked about not being properly compensated for their time on the family’s TLC show. They did recover some of their wages. But now, adding another baby to their family will require more money. Derick recently graduated from law school. While he was in school, he delivered food with Grub Hub. Jill occasionally partners with brands and promotes their products online in exchange for compensation.
But there are still many questions about how Derick Dillard will support his growing family. So, might he have already passed the bar exam and gotten a job?

At this point, Jill and Derick Dillard have yet to make an announcement about him passing the bar or getting a job. They typically share big announcements with Duggar fans, so it’s likely that they would have shared this news if it had happened.
Over on Reddit, Duggar critics are speculating that Derick might have put off taking the bar exam. One Reddit user speculates, “I’d say no announcement means probably not.”
Someone else adds, “He could still be working in a somewhat more limited capacity pre bar passage, but I am not sure if he has been doing so.”
According to Harvard Law School’s website, the bar is held in February and July each year.
While Derick could have taken the bar exam in July of 2021, last year was very busy for the family. Josh Duggar’s arrest and trial affected the whole family. Plus, Jill had a miscarriage sometime last year as well. So, there might have been several reasons he decided to focus on his family instead of taking the exam.
It’s possible that Derick decided to take the exam in February and just hasn’t gotten his results or shared them with fans yet.
