Several HGTV shows star real-life couples, and Hallmark Channel fans are pitching for one of the network’s most famous couples to get their own home renovation series.
The fan chatter began after Alexa PenaVega, who is married to Carlos PenaVega, shared an Instagram selfie of herself working on a home construction project on July 30. “Sometimes you just gotta knock down some walls,” she captioned the snap, in which she stood next to exposed beams in her house.
In the post’s comments, one fan stated, “Omg Alexa! I would love to see you and Carlos do a renovation show!!! Y’all are way better than Chip and Joanna [Gaines]!!” Another added, “This looks amazing! Loving the wooden beams and that stone fireplace.”
The actress followed up the photo with an Instagram video of herself and Carlos tackling renovations in their kitchen. “Felt like redoing the kitchen. Let’s gut this place! #remodel #DIY #Kitchen,” she wrote alongside the August 4 clip.
Fans applauded the duo’s renovation skills in the comments, with one fan writing, “Can you come over and redo mine pls lol.” Another gushed, “Awe my sweet penavegas always doing some fun house projects. So much fun!!!” Someone else shared, “That is the neatest demolition I have ever seen.”

In a Thursday, August 6, Instagram video, Alexa and Carlos continued their home renovation efforts in their living room. “Fine! We’ll rip out the floors #remodel #diy #barndo,” Alexa captioned the clip, which featured Carlos using a jackhammer to remove the room’s current flooring.
“So when is your @hgtv show gonna start,” one fan wrote underneath the upload, while another asked, “Are you two the next fixer upper couple?” A different commenter stated, “Y’all seriously need to do a renovation show!! I would love to watch you guys do that!!”
Neither Alexa nor Carlos have confirmed whether they will take their renovation talents to HGTV. Both have starred in multiple shows and films over the years, with Alexa being best known for her breakout role as Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids film franchise, and Carlos for being a member of the boy band Big Time Rush and starring on the Nickelodeon series of the same name.

The couple wed in 2014 and share three kids: Ocean, Kingston, and Rio. In 2024, Alexa revealed that the pair’s fourth child, a daughter named Indy, was stillborn.
