While Hilary Farr shared a close on-screen bond with David Visentin on Love It or List It, she has a surprising longtime friendship with one of Hollywood’s most recognizable actresses.
In a Tuesday, August 18, Instagram post, Farr revealed that she’s been friends with Harry Wild star Jane Seymour for decades. “So, Hilary, how long have we known each other?” Seymour asked the HGTV star in the clip. Farr jokingly replied, “I don’t know, 350 years, I think.”
Seymour said she and Farr have known each other since they were 13, and praised her pal for becoming “incredibly successful” in Toronto, where they met up for the evening. “I think you’re doing alright,” Farr said of Seymour’s own career.
Recalling their days as classmates, Seymour said, “I always remember you were always much better at things than I was when we were at school.” Farr added, “And that was then, and this is now.”
Seymour concluded the clip by stating that she and Farr “haven’t changed” since they met decades ago. “Not much,” Farr agreed. In the post’s caption, Farr wrote, “Such a great evening with you @janeseymour! Who else has a friend like this since you were 13 years old!?”
Fans gushed over the pair’s surprising and long-lasting friendship in the post’s comments. “Wow, I love this! My best friend and I have been friends since we were 17, and we’re still best friends at 47!” one user shared. “And now our children have become friends too—they’re all around the same age, just like we were. It’s so beautiful to see our friendship continue through them!”
Another added, “Two beautiful besties that have withstood the test of time and maintained their grace, elegance, and sense of humour.” Someone else shared, “You both look gorgeous!!! I met my bestie when we were 8.”
A different person posted, “So special to see a friendship that has been there since you were 13. What a beautiful bond!” A separate commenter stated, “Love both these ladies, both class acts.”
Several fans also expressed how much they miss seeing Farr on Love It or List It. Farr co-hosted the HGTV renovation series with Visentin for 19 seasons from 2008 to 2023. The show went on a brief hiatus following Farr’s exit from the series before returning for Season 20 last year with new co-host Page Turner. Love It or List It premiered its 21st season on June 23.
Seymour scored her breakout role as the Bond girl Solitaire in 1973’s Live and Let Die. She has starred in many memorable projects over the years, including Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, East of Eden, Somewhere in Time, and Wedding Crashers.
Farr, for her part, has acted in a handful of projects over the years, including 1975’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the 2022 holiday film Designing Christmas.
