Jenn Todryk ended her summer with an unexpected emergency room visit.
The former No Demo Reno host has been candid about her health ups and downs with fans via social media over the years, including opening up about her diagnosis with Hashimoto’s disease. In a series of Instagram Story videos posted on Tuesday, September 15, Todryk shared her recent health scare and asked fans for advice on managing it.
“I think I shared a few months ago, I woke up in the middle of the night with excruciating stomach pain, near passed out on the floor, lost all motor function, and then explosive poop soup that no human should be able to produce. And I thought it was because I ate Arby’s,” she stated, noting she spent most of Monday, September 14, in the ER after experiencing a “worse” and “longer” episode the night prior.
The HGTV stars said she was initially hesitant about going to the ER. “I feel like you wait forever, it’s a waste of time and money, and no one ever tells you what’s wrong,” she explained. “Sorry to be a hater, but that has been my experience.”
Todryk said she underwent a CT scan and gallbladder and stomach sonograms to determine the root of her issue, but all of the tests came back clear. “So then, he orders a vaginal sonogram, to where I say, ‘My vagina has nothing to do with this. Thank you,’” she said. “Get a vaginal sonogram, and the whole time, I’m thinking of canceling it, because, ‘Why are we doing this?’”
Todryk said the sonogram revealed that she had a cyst on her left ovary that had ruptured. The result was unexpected, as the TV personality said neither she nor any of her family members had ovarian cysts in the past.
According to the Mayo Clinic, ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that appear in or on the surface of an ovary. Cysts can be common and harmless, but they can rupture and cause pain.

“I’m like, ‘How’d it get there?’ I am really intelligent with hormone things just ‘cause I’ve lived it day in and day out, like, constantly attacking and fixing and ingesting hormones,” Todryk recalled of her reaction to the news. “And I did not see this coming.”
As for her recovery, Todryk said she will meet with an OBGYN to figure out how they can minimize the cyst or make it go away, and noted that she is open to undergoing surgery to remove it.
“I can fight through the stomach pain if I’m gonna have this every few months. I’m not doing this pass out crap,” she told her followers. “It’s so painful. It’s terrifying, even when I know it’s happening, and I look calm and collected trying to fight for my life. It’s so painful and scary, I don’t know how else to put it.”
She continued, “I’m not good on judging how bad things really are, apparently, and that is what has me — I am really, like, in a terrified state of, like, a ticking time bomb. What if this happens in public? What if it happens if I’m driving my kids? It comes so fast, to where I wake up from stomach pain, and within five minutes, I’m on the ground, fighting for consciousness.” (Jenn shares her two kids, Berkley and Vivienne, with her husband, Mike Todryk.)
Jenn concluded her series of Instagram Story videos by stating, “I thought I was spared of ovarian cysts. I thought that was the one thing in the hormonal sphere, spectrum that I was spared. Alas… So, yeah. It stinks. I’m on a new journey.”
