What To Know

  • CBS Media Ventures is currently developing a new daytime talk show hosted by Jonathan Scott.
  • If picked up, the show will be slated for a fall 2027 release.
  • News of the project comes amid changes in the syndicated TV landscape, including the ends of series such as Sherri and The Kelly Clarkson Show.

After over a decade as an HGTV staple, Jonathan Scott is branching outside the network for his latest TV project.

Multiple outlets reported on Wednesday, June 10, that CBS Media Ventures is developing a new daytime talk show, hosted by Scott, that is being considered for a fall 2027 syndication release. A pilot for the series will reportedly be filmed in New York City later this month.

The show’s current working title is Better! With Jonathan Scott. Per the series’ logline, the talk show will look to “inspire audiences with fresh ideas to live better, all while having fun doing it.” Like other shows in the genre, the series will also feature interviews between Scott and a variety of famous guests. The show remains in the works and has not officially been picked up by CBS Media Ventures.

Scott previously teased the project in a Tuesday, June 9, Instagram post. “Big announcement tomorrow… any guesses??” he captioned a video of himself sitting at a dressing room mirror. Fans filled the comments with their guesses, including his older brother, J.D. Scott, who joked, “FaceOff with Drew [Scott]. You switch faces for a renovation.”

One user wrote, “Jonathan, I can hardly wait to see and hear your announcement! I know that it will be awesome!” Another added, “Um, wedding? DWTS contestant? Yet another makeover show? You’re a contestant on Jeopardy? There’s just too many things to choose from.” (Jonathan has been engaged to Zooey Deschanel since 2023.)

Someone else suggested, “You are coming to remodel my house free of charge, just for funsies.” A different person guessed, “Property Brothers: The Musical.” A separate commenter stated, “ANOTHER brothers show coming.”

News of Scott’s syndicated talk show comes amid changes in the daytime TV lineup, as shows such as Access Hollywood, Sherri, and The Kelly Clarkson show have ended or will be wrapping up soon.

While Access Hollywood and Sherri were both canceled, Kelly Clarkson decided to end her daytime talk show to prioritize her kids. Clarkson shares her daughter, River, and son, Remy, with her late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who died at the age of 48 in August 2025.

Jonathan and his twin brother, Drew, have been TV staples since their flagship HGTV series, Property Brothers, premiered in 2011. The brothers have hosted and appeared on dozens of home renovation shows in the years since, including Property Brothers at Home, Brother vs. Brother, Property Brothers: Forever Home, Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers, Chasing the West, and Celebrity IOU.

Jonathan and Drew premiered their latest series, Property Brothers: Under Pressure, in March. The series follows the brothers as they help clients through the ups and downs of the home-buying and renovation process.
