TV Shows

Duggar cousin Amy King has revealed her reaction to Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal years later. She opened up about some of the events that followed after she learned about his disgusting actions. So, what has she spilled? Keep reading for all of the details.

These days, Amy seems to be very distanced from the Duggar family. She recently spoke out about them in the new Amazon Prime Video docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets. She seems to be close with one of her cousins, Jill Dillard, but she lives a different life and doesn’t appear to be supportive of some of them.

Despite her distance from her famous family, she continues to speak out about them in interviews and on social media.

Amy King opens up about Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal.

Most recently, Amy chatted with Vanity Fair about her famous family. Specifically, she talked about Josh Duggar and his molestation scandal. As a teen, Josh allegedly molested four of his sisters. Though it was years ago, she has new information to share that she hasn’t really disclosed in the past.

In the interview, Amy revealed that she learned of Josh’s alleged molestations in 2015 when the news broke. Despite being a member of the family, no one told her. She explained, “I was p*ssed. I felt like I wasn’t worth telling … that they didn’t want to protect me. They didn’t want anyone to know, [and] they wanted to keep it inside their little bubble.”

She added that secrets aren’t uncommon in the IBLP (Institute in Basic Life Principles), which is the religion that the Duggars follow.

After learning about the alleged molestations, Amy King then confronted Josh, who was staying in a trailer at the time.

She said that she asked him, “How could you do this?” In the Vanity Fair interview, she added, “And I was very bold about that.”

While she spoke with Josh, he told her that he didn’t try anything with her because “he knew better.” Amy King feels that Josh Duggar chose his victims because he was confident they wouldn’t speak out.

What else has the Duggar cousin spilled?

Though most of the interview focuses on Josh and the IBLP, Amy King also shared how she feels about Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s actions amid the molestation allegations. Amy claimed that they are “cringe-worthy” and “evil” for choosing Josh over their daughters in this situation.

She went on to say that Josh’s child pornography crimes were “the last straw” for her when it came to associating with the Duggar family.
