Howard Stern returned to SiriusXM for a new season of his radio show earlier this month. The shock jock also signed a deal with HBO Max to air the radio show on streaming. However, he was reportedly missing from the NYC studio for the first episode. Keep reading to find out what’s going on.
Howard Stern Missing From NYC Studio As Radio Show Returns
Howard Stern signed a three-year contract extension with SiriusXM in late 2025. The new contract keeps him on the air until 2028. But at 72, the longtime radio host was ready for some changes. His new contract stipulated that he would only do one live radio show a week instead of three. Since he wouldn’t be in the studio as much, over 50 employees were let go. Furthermore, SiriusXM dropped Howard 100, the station that played round-the-clock replays of his old shows.
Many fans renewed their subscriptions to SiriusXM under the impression that they’d get three new live shows a week. That isn’t happening. To make matters worse, the HBO Max radio show that airs on streaming on Thursday already aired on the radio on Monday, so it’s not new content.
Now, amid fans already upset with Howard Stern, comes a new bombshell report about the radio show. The shock jock reportedly doesn’t even broadcast live from the studio in New York City. Multiple sources revealed to The U.S. Sun that Howard Stern broadcasts from his fancy estate in the Hamptons.
The radio host purchased the 4.35-acre waterfront mansion in Southampton, New York, for $20 million in 2005. It was his sanctuary during the COVID pandemic. According to the sources, he rarely ventures outside his home, let alone visit the New York City studio.
Fans Blast ‘King Of All Media’
The suggestion that Howard Stern doesn’t film his radio show in New York City didn’t come as a huge surprise to listeners. SiriusXM boasted that The Howard Stern Show would have 40 cameras capturing everything for the HBO Max show. However, the audio entertainment company didn’t specify where the cameras would be.
