Howard Stern’s Lawyer Slams Former Assistant Over Accusations

- Advertisment -

News had come out earlier this year that Howard Stern and his wife, Beth, were facing a lawsuit from a former assistant over work environment issues. In a recent update, an email from Howard’s lawyer has since come to light. This also comes out a few months after Howard and his wife previously filed to have the case dismissed.

The Former Assistant’s Lawyer Recently Shared An Email From Howard Stern’s Own Lawyer

Stern is a broadcaster and media personality. He is best known for The Howard Stern Show, which ran through national syndication on radio from 1986 to 2005. Since 2006, he has also broadcast through SiriusXM.

Recently, Stern has made headlines concerning Leslie Kuhn, a former assistant for the shock jock, who has filed a lawsuit against him and his wife over a “hostile work environment.” Howard and Beth had allegedly asked Kuhn to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which banned her from discussing the Stern family’s private lives.

According to Page Six, Stern’s lawyer recently criticized the former assistant’s accusations in a recently shared private email. A screenshot of the alleged email has since been released by John Joseph Leonard, Kuhn’s attorney. These were included in an exhibit filed with the New York County Clerk.

Addressing Leonard in an email, the lawyer, Andrew Mark Goldsmith, attacked Kuhn’s intentions to file a second amended complaint alleging that NDAs were “fabricated” while she worked under Stern and his wife, Beth. As Goldsmith argued in the email, “Mr. Stern has already unequivocally, unconditionally and irrevocably waived his right to enforce that agreement against Ms. Kuhn in publicly filed court documents.”

The email continued, “To eliminate any possible doubt (and there should be none), Mr. Stern and each of the other defendants hereby reiterate that they unconditionally and irrevocably waive any and all rights to enforce that agreement against Ms. Kuhn, now or at any time in the future.” Reportedly, Stern’s attorney claimed that there should be “no ambiguity” on where they stood.

Howard & Beth Stern Filed To Have The Case Be Dismissed Back In April

Goldsmith continued, “Given these binding waivers, the proposed second amended complaint is both futile and frivolous. Filing a motion for leave to amend would be vexatious, wasteful and a needless drain on judicial and party resources.” As he concluded the email, he warned that actions could be taken should the complaint proceed. This could include monetary fines.

On Sunday, Kuhn’s lawyer listed proposed amendments to her initial complaint, including claims that she didn’t sign or was presented with the September 2022 Confidentiality Agreement. It was further claimed that the NDA is “void ab initio,” which means it should be treated as if it legally never existed to begin with.

Kuhn previously sued Howard and Beth in April. She claimed that they created a hostile work environment as she worked at their New York mansion. Among the allegations, Kuhn claimed that Beth needed help managing staffers and household operations. This reportedly included an at-home feline rescue.

Kuhn also claimed that she was fired after being told that she was going to be getting a raise and a bonus in February. This recent move also comes out after Howard and Beth filed for Kuhn’s case to be dismissed in April. At the time, they claimed that they waived their rights to enforce the alleged NDA through their lawyers.
