Many people are having issues when it comes to making the rent, in this day and age just like any other. Recently, actor Hugh Jackman is getting involved with a promotion to help some fans go rent-free for a time. This also comes out as he has been trying to offload a lavish New York City apartment.
Hugh Jackman Is Known For A Number Of Projects, From X-Men To The Greatest Showman
Jackman is an Australian actor whose breakout role was playing Wolverine in the X-Men film franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Other films he is known for include Kate & Leopold, The Prestige, The Greatest Showman, and Les Misérables. Jackman also has had a prominent career in theatre, including Beauty and the Beast and The Boy from Oz.
Throughout his career, Jackman has earned a number of awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award, a Grammy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and two Tony Awards. He was also appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia back in 2019.
Jackman recently partnered with Bilt founder Ankur Jain for the Rent Free Game show. In this show, celebrities take on challenges while helping members win a month of rent-free living.
The game show is a monthly feature on the Bilt Rewards app. Members can win free rent by guessing top survey answers alongside a celebrity guest. The stronger Hugh’s performance is, the greater the benefit will be for Bilt members.
Reportedly, this came about after the actor found himself struggling to offload an apartment based in New York City. The upscale apartment is currently listed at around $28.75 million. As noted by The U.S. Express, it was previously listed at $38.9 million.
This Also Comes Out As Jackman Is Set To Host Another High-Profile Event In New York
Jackman and his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, previously purchased the property for around $21 million back in 2008. The expansive home was described as a five-bedroom triplex designed by famous architect Richard Meier. It also has three floors connected by a striking spiral staircase.
Jackman’s involvement with Rent Free also comes out as he was set to appear in another New York-based event. The star is set to host the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on September 26. Having been affiliated with the organization since 2008, he currently serves as a Global Citizen ambassador.
Bilt and Global Citizen also teamed up to promote the projects in a joint Instagram post. As it read, “This September, @bilt Members are teaming up with @glblctzn, and Global Citizen Ambassador, @thehughjackman, for Rent Free – and the better he does, the more Members win free rent. A two-time Tony winner and an Emmy and Grammy winner, Hugh is back hosting the Global Citizen Festival in New York City this month.”
