A new iteration of Eloise is on the way at Netflix, and behind-the-scenes photos from the set reveal hints about the fun to be had once the movie from Amy Sherman-Palladino arrives.

Based on the classic character from the children’s book series written by Kay Thompson and illustrated by Hilary Knight, Eloise will take viewers on an all-new original adventure, but not without showcasing the titular character’s famously associated location of The Plaza Hotel in New York City.

Along with the iconic spot, photos of the cast led by newcomer Mae Schenk have teased subway shenanigans, cab rides, and more. In addition to Schenk, the film will feature Sally Hawkins, David Haig, Ryan Reynolds, Victor Garber, Max Casella, and Isaac Bae. Amy Sherman-Palladino, of Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel fame, is on set directing the flick she also co-wrote.

“Eloise has been beloved for generations, from when she was first published in the 1950s through to today, when no family trip to New York City is complete without a stop at The Plaza,” Hannah Minghella, Head of Feature Animation and Family Film at Netflix, said to Tudum. “It’s an honor to reintroduce this cherished character to the world with two people who share her signature mischief and charm — Amy Sherman-Palladino and Ryan Reynolds — in this bold, hilarious, and heartfelt new family film.”

Filming for the movie began in London in November 2025, but shooting has continued in New York as recently as late May 2026. Scroll down for a closer look at the fun being had by the stars and creatives behind the scenes of filming, and stay tuned for more on the film as we approach Eloise‘s premiere.
