Jelly Roll Hits Back After Fox News’ Jesse Watters Blasts His Trump Comments

What To Know

  • Jelly Roll continued to make jokes at Donald Trump’s expense on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
  • His digs drew criticism from Fox News’ Jesse Watters, who accused him of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
  • Jelly Roll directly responded to Watters and doubled-down on his Trump jabs.

Jelly Roll isn’t taking his foot off the gas when it comes to poking fun at Donald Trump, even if it ruffles the feathers of the MAGA faithful, including “the gang at Fox News.”

The country singer is currently guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! and has surprised viewers with his jokes about the president. He continued to take jabs at Trump during Wednesday’s (August 26) show, mocking the president for his ongoing trade war with Canada.

“Speaking of cheese balls, let’s talk about Donald Trump,” Jelly Roll quipped in his opening monologue. “The president is doubling down on his ridiculous trade war with Canada. And they’re saying this could lead to higher prices for several products, including whiskey, smartphones, but most alarmingly, toilet paper. It’s going to be a real World War Two-ply.”

He continued, “But you have to admit, there is something poetic about it being so expensive to wipe our ass just because the president’s full of s***.”

The Grammy winner went on to say he is just “trying to fulfill his duties as a late night comedian” by “poking fun at POTUS,” but acknowledged that his jokes have caused quite a stir.

“It’s gotten a lot of reactions from a lot of people on both sides of the aisle,” he explained. “But today, I’m really starting to feel like my pal, Jimmy Kimmel, because my monologues caught the attention of the gang over at Fox News.”

He then threw to a clip from Jesse Watters Primetime, where the host delivered his “Trump Derangement Syndrome Tuesday” report. “Next up to bat, Jelly Roll,” Watters said. “They should put a warning label on Ozempic. Side effects can include increased risk of TDS. If you notice signs like irritability, depression, and trouble sleeping, please see a doctor.”

Jelly Roll fired back at Watters, saying, “First of all, Jesse, I’ll have you know, Ozempic is the only drug I haven’t tried.”

“I know it sounds unbelievable, but I lost weight the old-fashioned way. Cocaine,” he added. “No, seriously. I got in shape before the GLP1 craze started. And I’m kind of proud of the fact that I did it through diet and exercise. But I also feel like a dude who bought the last horse and buggy a day before they started selling cars.”

The “Save Me” singer said that he “can’t believe” that of all the jokes he’s told, “the one that really seemed to make people mad… was when I said [Trump] was overweight.” He joked, “I thought fat-on-fat crime was okay!”

He added, “I mean, we can debate whether this president is mentally fit, but I think we can all agree he is certainly not physically fit. But I hope I can inspire the Donald, man. If I can lose all that weight, he can too, and, in fact, there is a new medication on the market designed specifically for him.”

Jelly Roll then played a spoof commercial for “Donjaro,” a fake weight loss drug made just for Trump. As noted, side effects can include “meeting drowsiness,” “confusion,” “bruising of the hands,” and “massive cankles.”
