What To Know

  • Jennifer Love Hewitt revealed Maddie’s look for 9-1-1 Season 10 on Instagram.
  • The ABC first responder returns this fall.

“The people have spoken,” Jennifer Love Hewitt says as she gears up to return to production on 9-1-1. The ABC first responder drama will be back for its 10th season this fall.

On Wednesday, July 15, the star, who plays dispatcher Maddie, took to Instagram to show off her new look. In a video she posted to her Instagram Stories with hairstylist Nikki Lee, Hewitt says, “OK, so, it is time to get ready for Season 10 of 9-1-1. The people have spoken, Nikki, and they have asked for me to keep the blonde for Season 10.” Lee chimes in, with, “Let’s keep it.” And with that, Hewitt agrees: “We’re keeping the blonde; we heard you guys.”

Hewitt also posted a reel to her Instagram showing off the finished product of the blonde, with the caption, ” Season 10 hair ready! Let’s go! @nikkilee901 @seama901 @tarynhoustonn @911onabc.” You can check out that post and video below, along with a screenshot from the Story.

When we last saw Maddie in 9-1-1 Season 9, she, like everyone else, was celebrating — and she’d also just gotten a promotion at work, taking over for Sue (Debra Christofferson), who had to leave when she had a stroke. (Sue, in the finale, was well on the road to recovery.) We’ll have to see what’s going on at dispatch when Season 10 begins.

Chances are when 9-1-1 resumes for Season 10, we’ll see her helping out her brother, Buck (Oliver Stark), who began fostering Theo (Lincoln and Theodore Sykes) in last spring’s finale. Theo was Connor (Colin McCalla) and Kameron’s (Chelsea Kane) son, the one Buck donated sperm to help them have, and the couple died in a tragic accident in the penultimate episode. As a parent to two kids, Maddie certainly could offer Buck some advice.

Season 10 also has to address whether Buck will adopt Theo. Stark told TV Insider after the Season 9 finale that he expects to see Buck navigating “the foster system and the difficulties and will we have to fight for him or why is nobody else fostering him, where is his extended family?” and leaning on those around him with kids, including his best friend Eddie (Ryan Guzman), a single father.

9-1-1, Season 10, Fall 2026, Thursdays, 8/7c, ABC
