‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Debate Ken Jennings’ Drag Name as He Shares Pride Message

Pride month calls for Jeopardy! fans to bring up a question they want to know the answer to — What would Ken Jennings‘ drag name be?

Jennings, who is known to be an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, shared a post to Instagram on June 1 to kick off Pride Month. “Happy Pride from GAME SHOWS. Always remember that game shows are queer culture!” he captioned the post.

Pride Month takes place every year in June. It celebrates the LGBTQ+ community with parades, events, and more.

In the post, he shared photos of Charles Nelson Reilly on Match Game, who was an openly gay man. The second photo had Stephen Fry, who hosts Jeopardy! UK, and Sandi Toksvig. There, hosted a British game show called QI.

Fry is an openly gay man who came out in the 1980s. Toksvig came out as a lesbian in 1994.

The third picture was of Paul Lynde on Hollywood Squares. He was closeted for most of his life.

As many people left positive pride messages, one fan asked what Ken Jennings’ drag name would be? “Ken, what is your drag name?” they asked.

Historically, drag queens are gay men or transgender women who dress up and perform in exaggerated clothing and makeup to celebrate and critique traditional gender roles. Deeply rooted in LGBTQ+ culture, drag serves as a platform for artistic expression and historical activism.

Fans threw out suggestions in the replies. Many fans said they’d suggest Jen Kennings.

Other comments included Watissa Hoe (making fun of his “What is a hoe?” response), Trudy Lee Double (True Daily Double), Buzz R. Beater, and Dolly Double.

Former contestant Kevin Belle, who competed on the show in April and May, 2023 shared, “Though I encouraged @whoiskenjennings to do drag on the show and he respectfully declined, he did tell me he thought Della Double would be a good one. I agreed.”

He has his own drag person called Whiskey Ginger, which he began doing during the Covid-19 pandemic. Belle also suggested that Jennings could be called Miss Information.

“Della Double could have some amazing costumes with blue grids, screens, buzzers, and video clues,” a fan replied.

What do you think Ken Jennings’ drag name should be? Let us know in the comments.
