Jamie Ding added another accolade to his name, and this time it didn’t have to do with Jeopardy!. Ok, well, maybe a little bit. The 31-time Jeopardy! champion was named one of The New York Times‘ “Most Stylish People of 2026 So Far.”
This is all thanks to the orange ensembles he wore on the game show earlier this year. Ding, who won $882,605, told host Ken Jennings that he wore orange all of the time because it was his favorite color, and it was the color of his alma mater, Princeton, and it paid off. Even if the outfit wasn’t fully orange, Ding had some speck of the color on the top of his outfit.
“Clothes can be a tool to express the most straightforward of sentiments. During his 31-game streak on Jeopardy!, Ding wanted to rep the colors of his alma mater, Princeton, and so he did, resulting in a string of winsome sweaters riffing on the color palette,” the NYT wrote for the bureaucrat’s blurb, along with photos of him in his various orange sweaters.
Ding, from Lawrenceville, New Jersey, was named alongside Renate Reinsve, Alysa Liu, Blue Ivy Carter, Bad Bunny, John Travolta, Stephen Colbert, Audrey Nuna and the KPop Demon Hunters cast, Victor Wembanyama, Björk, Teyana Taylor, Artemis II Astronauts, Adam Friedland, Sarah Pidgeon, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., John F. Kennedy Jr. Clones, Rama Duwaji, Pregnant Women in the Trump Sphere, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Chase Infiniti, Patrick Radden Keefe, Chloé Zhao, Clavicular, Meryl Streep, Miyako Bellizzi, EsDeeKid, Eileen Gu, President Emmanuel Macron of France, Jack Harlow, Fakemink, Rosalía, Kareem Rahma, Justin Trudeau, Josn O’Connor, Zsolt Hegedus, Justin Bieber, Amy Poehler, Eon Huntley, and New York Knicks Fans.
The honor was posted on NJ.com’s Instagram page, and fans reacted to it. “Iconic,” one fan said.
“Slay,” another said.
“Periodt,” a third added.
“Yay! Jamie! Orange sweaters for the win!” a Facebook user in the group, Jeopardy! Fan Group said.
“Good for him,” another wrote.
“Jamie was so good! I loved his style. The orange was so cool!” another commented.
“Congrats, Jamie!” one last fan wrote.
Ding won’t be away from the Alex Trebek Stage forever. See what other iconic fashion looks he cooks up when he plays in the 2027 Tournament of Champions.
The game show contestant is also set to appear on Who Wants to Be a Millonaire? this summer with Ben Affleck. Last season, Jennings played with Affleck’s best friend, Matt Damon, and they won the $1 million prize for their charities. Can this duo do the same?
