‘Jeopardy!’ Ken Jennings’ Has New Hosting Gig

TV Shows

For over a month, Ken Jennings has received a great deal of flack for choosing to continue hosting Jeopardy! amid a writers’ strike. Even with the backlash, he has powered through. Now he has an opportunity to host a show and has taken it! The series gives an update about the host and contestants.

Ken Jennings Doesn’t Back Down

Some of the pushback came from Ken Jennings continuing to host during a writers’ strike. While his counterpart Mayim Bialik left filming during Season 39. Many fans were happy about it, but one said, “@KenJennings You’re a disgrace if you’re trying to cross picket lines. Alex [Trebek] would NEVER do anything of the sort. He would turn over his grave seeing you act like that.”

Replying, Ken Jennings posted Sony’s response, “Jeopardy! has a long history with and tremendous respect for the WGA and our writers. We have always been careful to honor our WGA agreements and we would never air game material not created by WGA writers. However, just as we did, led by Alex Trebek, during the 2007-2008 strike, we will deliver first-run episodes again this fall.”

Announcing A New Job

While Ken Jennings has snapped back at any Internet troll or cynic, he has a new opportunity now. Celebrity Jeopardy! shared an Instagram post featuring Ken Jennings. Clearly showing he is hosting by himself without Mayim Bialik. News from On Camera Audiences talks about the celebrity spinoff taping on August 21.

“Clue: Hollywood’s brightest are back when this show premieres Wednesday, September 27 at 8/7c on ABC! Answer: What is #CelebrityJeopardy!?” they captioned. There were some mixed responses. A few say they will miss Mayim Bialik. However, one replied: “I might actually watch it now that she isn’t hosting.” Another exclaimed, “Thank goodness Ken is the only host!”

Who Are The Contestants Joining Ken Jennings This Season?

Not only will Ken Jennings be on the show, but Season 2 of Celebrity Jeopardy! contestants have been introduced. Presently, filmmaker and actor for The Morning Show, Mark Duplass, Schitt’s Creek star, Emily Hampshire, and Ghosts’ star Utkarsh Ambudkar will be competing this season, according to TV Insider. During the competition, these stars will compete to win $1 million. Winnings will go to the charity of their choice.

Additionally, a Reddit fan shared who they believe will also be on this season. They wrote, “October 4th: Brian Baumgartner, Lisa Ann Walter, and Timothy Simons.”

One social media user excitedly posted: “Me googling and seeing their faces: OMG Stevie from Schitt’s Creek? Jonah from Veep! Kevin from the Office! Melissa from Abbott Elementary?? That guy from… things!”

Keep up with all the excitement this season with a good group of contestants and a new host, just kidding, Ken Jennings.
