Jimmy Kimmel just blasted President Donald Trump‘s Iran deal as the “Retreaty of Versailles” on his last episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! ahead of a two-month summer break — before Matt Damon crashed his set.
On the Thursday, June 18 episode of his ABC late-night show, Kimmel took aim at the POTUS after the 80-year-old signed a preliminary peace deal to end the war in Iran on Wednesday.
“Donald Trump is having a really bad week after this dummy of a deal he signed off on,” he pointed out during his opening monologue. “Even his own side is against him on this.”
After reading headlines from Fox News criticizing the president’s move, Kimmel, 58, explained, “Trump got a copy of this memorandum of understanding they came up with last night during his dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron. You can see here, he is putting his little Don Hancock the Retreaty of Versailles.”
The comedian then quipped, “Unfortunately, that’s the dessert menu he signed. So, he got a macaroon to go. And then he got a big round of applause for, I don’t know what, for accomplishing nothing once again.”
Kimmel continued, “The deal is, Iran gets billions of dollars, and then we’ll talk about a deal. It’s a deal to make a deal,” before joking, ” It’s hosted by Howie Mandel. It’s gonna be terrific.”
Additionally, Kimmel drew attention to the fact that Trump still hasn’t “gotten into the details of the nuclear stuff” with Iran.
“Which is interesting because three months ago, Trump wrote, ‘No deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!’” he pointed out, sharing a screenshot of a Truth Social post from the POTUS. “Little did we know he meant it was ours.”
To conclude his thoughts on the preliminary peace treaty, Kimmel declared, “So in the end, after all this, Trump’s answer to the questions who did you go to war with and how did it end will be the same answer: I-ran.”
Kimmel wrapped up his monologue with a surprise visit from his frenemy, Damon, who crashed the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live! in a Trojan horse and then challenged the late-night host to a battle with pool noodles.
