Sadly, the mystery as to what has been going on with Kate Middleton has been solved. It has been revealed the future Queen of England has cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy to help her fight this dreaded disease.
The Surgery In January
Kate Middleton underwent an abdominal surgery on January 16, 2024. This is after about a month of not being in the public eye. At the time, both the Prince and Princess of Wales knew the surgery for a non-cancerous health issue.
After a series of tests, Kate Middleton learned, despite what she had been told previously, she had cancer. Her team of doctors at The London Clinic recommended a course of “preventative” chemotherapy.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,” Kate Middleton explained. “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
Kate Middleton Is Getting Chemotherapy
Kate Middleton started her chemotherapy treatments in late February. At the time of publication, the specific type of chemotherapy she is receiving is unknown. It is also unknown what form of cancer the preventative chemotherapy treatments are trying to stop.
Kate Middleton stated how she and Prince William “have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.”
According to a spokesperson for the royal family, the future Queen of England will return to her public duties when her medical team releases her for such work and activities. At the time of publication, it was unknown when that would be. It is also unknown if the “around Easter” timetable previously reported would still be in effect.
Kate Middleton And Her Family
At the moment, Kate Middleton is concerned about the impact this will have on her three children. Both she and Prince William are doing their best to explain it to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in a way the young children will be able to understand.
“But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok,” Kate Middleton said. “As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.”
As expected, Prince William is at her side. He is doing what he can for her during this difficult time for their family. The future King of England is also helping with the children as he continues some of his royal duties.
