Kathy Griffin is a regular guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! but you won’t see her on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show anytime soon. The comedian blasted the Tonight Show host for welcoming a controversial guest. Now, she says she’s been banned from the talk show completely. Keep reading to find out what’s going on.
Kathy Griffin Blasts Jimmy Fallon For Controversial Guest
Jimmy Fallon has faced backlash for his softball questions to guests and playing both sides of the fence. He gave Donald Trump a platform during the 2016 presidential election. The talk show host famously ruffled the future President’s hair. The Tonight Show welcomed another controversial guest in June that left Kathy Griffin seeing red.

The comedian took to social media to blast Jimmy Fallon for his friendly chat with a celebrity she believes deserves to be canceled. UFC fighter Conor McGregor joined Jimmy Fallon to promote his comeback fight against Max Holloway during International Fight Week in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 11, 2026.
Kathy Griffin reminded listeners that Conor McGregor was found liable of rape in 2024. He never faced criminal charges after the 2018 incident in Ireland. The prosecutors declined to charge him, citing lack of evidence. However, the victim sued him in civil court for rape and battery.
The jury found him liable and ordered him to pay €250,000 (roughly $285,000) in damages, in addition to approximately €1.5 million ($1.58 million) in legal costs. His appeal was rejected. Despite the jury finding him liable, he’s faced very little repercussions.
“I think the Fallon folks made a mistake by having Conor McGregor on. I think it sends yet another message to women and marginalized people everywhere, that we’re not equal and you can do anything to us, and the perpetrators are still gonna be out there being glorified,” Kathy Griffin said in an Instagram video.
But her issues with Jimmy Fallon go deeper than that. She opened up about being “banned” from the NBC late-night show.

My Life On The D-List Star Claims She’s Banned From Tonight Show
Kathy Griffin hasn’t been a guest on the Tonight Show since Jay Leno was the host. Jimmy Fallon took over in 2014 but has never invited her on the show. “I guess I’m banned from the Fallon show or inappropriate or too controversial, I don’t even know,” she said in the video.
The stand-up comedian is still trying to recover her career after being ‘canceled’ in 2017. Kathy Griffin faced major backlash that year when she posed for a photo with a severed head that resembled President Trump. But Jimmy Fallon’s talk show isn’t the only one she thinks she’s banned from.
“When you’re banned from a show—and if you guys know me, I’m banned from most of them, you’re welcome, America and Indonesia—they don’t usually tell you you’re banned, they just can’t seem to find room for you,” she said.
Jimmy Fallon hasn’t officially banned Kathy Griffin from his talk show, but she’s pretty sure he will now after she spoke out against Conor McGregor. Do you think he was wrong for welcoming the UFC fighter to the show amid his legal troubles? Tell us in the comments.
