- In an interview with TV Insider, Leah reveals where they stand after she felt betrayed by her close friend on the show.
In Season 1 of Million Dollar Nannies, Leah Barrs started an agency that brought a group of childcare experts to Ibiza to work as travel nannies for rich couples who were vacationing there. The staff included Leah’s friend Sydney Siegel, but by the end of the season, their relationship was fractured. Warning: Spoilers for Million Dollar Nannies ahead!
The women both nannied for the wealthy Guiribitey family (known as “The Gs” on the show), but Leah was fired when the parents found out that she’d previously slept with the father of one of the kids she was watching. The Gs eventually left Ibiza, but later called Sydney and asked if she would join them in Paris to watch the kids during Paris Fashion Week. Sydney accepted the offer, and Leah was livid.
The season ended without the former friends making amends, and then Sydney accepted a full-time position with the Gs. Nobody on the cast could get ahold of her as she moved onto the next chapter, and Leah tells TV Insider that they still haven’t repaired their friendship.
“We don’t really stand as friends right now, I guess you could say,” Leah admits. “I’m willing to hear her out. We haven’t really had the conversation yet. I’m willing to hear her out, but I don’t think everyone deserves a seat at the table after that.”
The show was filmed last summer, and now that it’s airing, Leah says she “for sure” thinks the door will be open for her and Sydney to talk. “I think we’ll both get to see each other’s side a bit more [on the show],” she explains. “Maybe I just don’t understand exactly why she did what she did, especially … just as a friend, I don’t think I would do that. I think she went about it the wrong way. So I’m open to hearing her out and having that conversation and maybe I can understand a little more.”
As for her relationship with the Gs, Leah says there’s “no ill will” between her and the family, “but we haven’t really talked.” She’s also maintained a close relationship with the rest of the cast, especially Liv McMahon.
“Actually, now Liv is my roommate,” she spills. “I made her move to Los Angeles. She was coming out all the time, so I was like … you might as well just move into my second bedroom. We have such a funny dynamic. She’s 22, and I’m 31. We really balance each other. She’s mature in a lot of ways where I’m immature and vice versa, so we kind of meet in the middle at 25.”
