Thanks to this, she can be considered something of a style fixture in the world of daytime television, as she’s shown off different outfits on her show. Recently, however, she revealed that there’s one rule of fashion that she doesn’t care for.
Live With Kelly And Mark Recently Came Back From Summer Break For Season 39
Live With Kelly and Mark was recently on a summer break, from early August through Labor Day. In the interim, the show had aired some pre-recorded episodes with fresh host chats and encore interviews.
Ripa herself had also missed some live shows, however, due to undergoing and recovering from gum graft surgery. However, fans saw the series return with live broadcasts on September 8, 2026, as the show premiered Season 39.
During the episode, Ripa donned a black-and-white floral dress. For his part, her husband, Mark Consuelos, wore a black button-up sweater with matching pants.
Behind the scenes, Ripa spoke with People, sharing secrets behind her outfit choices for the show. Ripa’s stylist, Audrey Slater-Spiegel, shared, “For us, we work together and we know each other’s styles really, really well.” Ripa added, “[Audrey] also knows when I don’t feel like shaving my leg, so that’s a pants leg. She’ll be like, ‘What day of hair growth on your legs is this.’”
Mark Consuelos Also Shared Praise For His Stylist On The Show
During the conversation, Ripa admitted that there was one famous, and somewhat timely, rule of fashion that she chose not to follow: not wearing white after Labor Day. In fact, she wore white during the show’s recent return. As Ripa shared, “I don’t follow that rule. I never follow that rule. I’m in white pants year-round.”
It’s believed that this old rule came about because wealthy people who could afford to vacation in coastal areas during the summer often wore white to keep cool against the heat. Returning to the city when the summer was over also meant putting away these white clothes as they could easily be ruined.
For his part, Consuelos also praised his stylist, Esther Park. Saying that she helped him come out of his comfort zone, he shared, “She also pushes me into areas that I’m like, ‘Really?’ and she’s like, ‘Yeah, trust me,’ and it always works.”
