Lori Loughlin is an actress with quite a few famous roles to her name. Recently, fans have seen her return to When Calls the Heart, with a return to another role right around the corner. With a new movie in the Garage Sale Mysteries franchise, Loughlin teased a bit of what fans can expect.

Lori Loughlin Is Known For Her Work In A Number Of Projects Over The Years, From Full House To When Calls The Heart

Many were first introduced to Loughlin as Rebecca “Aunt Becky” Donaldson-Katsopolis on the sitcom Full House, a role she reprised on Fuller House. She is also known for playing Abigail Stanton in the Hallmark Channel drama series When Calls the Heart, recently making her return in the Season 13 finale.

In addition, Loughlin is known for playing Jennifer Shannon in the mystery film series, Garage Sale Mysteries, previously known as Garage Sale Mystery. Back in 2019, Loughlin was terminated from Hallmark due to her involvement and indictment in the 2019 college admissions scandal. At the time, this also initially caused her exit from When Calls the Heart. However, in late June 2026, it was announced that the series would return, with Loughlin once again playing Jen.

Loughlin Will Step Back Into Garage Sale Mysteries After Seven Years

The latest film in the series, Garage Sale Mysteries: Murder Takes the Stage, is set to debut on September 19 on Hallmark Channel. Beforehand, Loughlin spoke with TV Insider about her return, seven years in the making.

The actress expressed how happy she was to return to the franchise. She shared, “It was the happiest day of my life. I just was so grateful that the franchise was brought back, so grateful to reunite with the original cast, and I really, really liked the script. It’s going to feel like comfort food, but I think our script is elevated. I mean, I love all the movies we’ve done, but I just feel like this is extra special.”

According to the outlet, the film will see the murder of a member of Jennifer’s true-crime book club during a reenactment of the Lizzie Borden case. Jen then gets involved with the case.

Loughlin Revealed That There Was A Storyline She Prevented & Teased The Future Of The Franchise

Meanwhile, Loughlin noted that some changes are natural with the passage of time. However, she felt that Garage Sales Mysteries is still the same franchise overall.

As Loughlin noted, “There are changes in the sense that her children have gotten older. The characters are empty nesters right now, so that’s a different chapter in their lives. But other than that, I think fans will be pleasantly surprised to see that the gang is intact. Living their lives. Still enjoying each other’s company. Very much in each other’s lives. So there’s not a drastic change.”

Loughlin also shared that she wanted to ensure that the new film kept the heart of previous projects. In particular, she vetoed a possible storyline that saw Jennifer and Jason Shannon divorcing. Loughlin shared, “You cannot do that. That is not what our audience wants to see,” with the couple still together in the upcoming film.

Fans have also been curious if the new film will be a one-shot or mark the revival of the series. For her part, Loughlin expressed, “I think we’re talking about possibly doing more. But until we get that green light, anything can happen.”
