Mama June Shannon’s granddaughter, Kaitlyn Shannon, got a makeover for a very special day. It has not been easy for the tween since her mother, Anna Cardwell passed away in December 2023. Yet, this seems to have perked her up some. What was the occasion? Keep reading for more details.
Mama June’s Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Has Makeover For Special Day
When Anna Cardwell passed away at the age of twenty-nine, she left behind two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee. She had Kaitlyn when she was a teenager and the father was never around. Then, she met and married Michael Cardwell with whom she had Kylee. On Family Crisis, she is seen battling stage 4 adrenal carcinoma but not wanting to deal with the future. Her sister, Pumpkin, and Mama June are trying to encourage Anna to plan out what should happen with the girls, especially Kaitlyn. They know Kylee will live with her father in the event of Anna passing but Kaitlyn’s fate is unknown.
She has since ended up living with her grandma June and her husband, Justin Stroud. However, Michael Cardwell has filed for custody of Kaitlyn. He maintains that he was her father figure and wants to keep the sisters together. There have also been videos circulating of June’s home being a toxic environment. Justin has been seen yelling at Kaitlyn while her uncle Josh Efird was filmed lashing out at her, as well. Now, Kaitlyn is experiencing a moment of happiness as she prepares to go to a dance at school. June shared a video on her Instagram of the big night.
Kaitlyn was dressed in a beautiful navy halter dress and open-toed white heels. Her blonde hair was lightly waved and she had jewelry adorning her neck and wrist. In the clip, Kaitlyn was seen posing with Mama June and Justin as well as Anna’s widower, Eldridge Toney. She looked every bit like a little lady and followers could not believe how much she looked like her mother.
A Second Chance
After seeing what a beauty Kaitlyn Shannon was, Mama June followers had a lot to say. Not only did they think she looked stunning but they also had messages for June herself:

Hopefully, if June does keep custody of Kaitlyn, she will listen to everyone’s advice and use this as a second chance. This was a moment where Kaitlyn did look just like Anna and it was incredible to see. May this be a beautiful night for the sweet girl.
