Married at First Sight star Jessica Castro broke her silence on her ex-husband Ryan De Nino’s death at 40.
On August 11, Ryan’s sister, Melissa De Nino, confirmed the news in a heartfelt Facebook post. Ryan died suddenly in New Jersey earlier this week, TMZ reported.
“Ryan was so damn funny and witty,” she began the tribute. “He was fiercely loyal to those he loved. He had a huge heart, always. I can’t explain what it’s like to lose a sibling. Someone who’s been there from the beginning and shares the same memories.”
To conclude her update, which featured photos of them through the years, the bereaved sister shared, “No matter what we were going through, I loved him immensely. Life as I know it will never be the same.”
Followers flooded Melissa with prayers, with one Facebook user writing, “Oh my gosh, my heart breaks hearing this. I am so incredibly sorry. He was so funny and witty, and the world was lucky to have him.”

In the wake of Ryan’s death, Jessica — who married Ryan in Season 2 of the Lifetime reality TV series — released a statement.
“I have not had contact with Ryan in years, so I have/had no idea what his life entailed,” she told Page Six. “However, I do send my sincerest condolences to his family during this very difficult time. I can not imagine what they are going through. May he rest peacefully.”
