‘Masked Singer’ Fans Boycott Over One Epic Mistake

- Advertisment -

The Masked Singer is supposed to be a fun escape from real life. The show features a mix of celebrities dressed up in crazy masks and costumes to perform hit songs. The judges and viewers try to guess the star’s identity based on their voice and a clue package. Some are easy to identify immediately but others are a complete shock when the mask comes off. But fans are ready to boycott over one epic mistake the show keeps making. Keep reading to find out what’s going on.

Masked Singer Unveils Season 14 Winner

Another season of The Masked Singer wrapped up this month. Season 14 featured new twists and returning judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, and Robin Thicke. Rita Ora replaced Nicole Scherzinger starting in Season 11.

Season 14 immediately found itself in a controversy with one of its first celebrity reveals. Some viewers were turned off by reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley being on the show. They were released from prison last year after President Trump issued pardons for their fraud convictions.

Despite the scandal, the season continued unveiling a celebrity contestant each week until a winner was revealed. Pop star Ashlee Simpson took her mask off with the help of her sister, Jessica Simpson.

Runner-up Philip Phillips, who gained fame on American Idol years ago, revealed after the show that he almost quit early. He told Parade magazine that the competition was “bizarre.”

Fans Ready To Boycott Over One Epic Mistake

The Masked Singer was a one-of-a-kind show when it debuted in 2019. It’s pretty simple to win – sing your heart out and be the last masked contestant standing. But now fans think the show is getting stale and repeating the same mistake every season. Journalist

Olivia Truffaut-Wong wrote an article for Cosmopolitan complaining about the Masked Singer having too many professional singers who viewers already know can sing. They wrote that while T-Pain, a professional singer, won the first season, it was a surprise to discover the rapper’s real voice without auto-tune.

Many viewers guessed early on that Ashlee Simpson was under the Galaxy Girl because her voice is so distinctive. Other fans of the show agree that it’s a mistake to have well-known singers compete on the reality show. Fed up viewers took to Reddit to share their thoughts on how to improve the show for Season 15 and beyond.

  • “one thing I’ve always appreciated about the show is when they’ve had celebrities who aren’t professional singers yet they still have absolutely incredible voices.”
  • “I prefer the nonprofessional singers. I love being surprised by someone who can sing who is known for something else, especially the athletes.”
  • “I love the non- professional singers they are harder to guess than the professional singers”
  • “its so much more unpredictable when you get names you would never expect to throw their hat in the ring as well.”
  • “I like to see a mix. I get excited seeing my favorite singers but also like seeing actors with singing abilities. James Van Der Beek was incredible last season particularly.”

Fox hasn’t officially renewed The Masked Singer for Season 15, but it will likely return. Tell us in the comments if you agree the show needs to cast more non-professional singers.
