The RHOBH star joined The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast to offer up some very interesting insight into his marriage with Kyle Richards.
For most reality TV stars, there needs to be a definite separation between their personal lives and their public persona. Despite having their everyday life and family affairs broadcast to millions of viewers, there is still a desire for privacy. To Mauricio Umansky, that desire for privacy is nearing its boiling point.
It hasn’t exactly been a secret that his marriage with Kyle Richards has hit some troubled waters. After 27 years of marriage, it was confirmed that the couple had separated back in July. But that doesn’t mean that Umansky is ready to throw in the towel. The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star says that while his marriage has seen happier days, it is still far from over. He just wants everyone to mind their own business while he and Richards figure it all out.
Mauricio Umansky Has Had Enough With The Marriage Gossip
Umansky popped into The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast to offer his thoughts on a wide variety of topics. Hosts Lauryn Evarts Bosstick and Michael Bosstick dove into Umansky’s experience as a businessman and his personal life. Seeing an opportunity to speak his mind, Umansky wanted to clear the air regarding the gossip surrounding his marriage. “When I know what I’m doing with my marriage, I will let you guys all know. Until then, everybody can take a hike and f— off,” said Umansky.
Umansky says that he has grown tired of the constant questions that inundate his everyday life. “The people that watch that show are all opinionated, and they just don’t realize that there are two humans on the other side of that opinion, and that’s really difficult. Everyone wants to know what’s going on with my marriage, like, I do too, you know, we’re normal people. We’re normal human beings going through a struggle, we’re going through issues like everybody else does,” he said. “There’s no playbook for how to deal with it. We’re humans, and it doesn’t change on a daily basis.”
“I always tell my wife. I’m like, ‘I know what happens to us.’ I’m the one that went to bed. I’m the one that woke up,” he said. “It can’t change every single minute and every single day. When asked what advice to give those seeking a long-lasting relationship, Umansky says to look for variety. “Being creative, go find things to do together, be creative and do different things,” he shares. “I’m not trying to lose my positivity but I’m trying to stop the wall that positivity creates.”
As for his current status on RHOBH, Umansky remains noncommittal. “I’ve taken a decision to just be in and out of the Housewives, right? Like I’m in. My wife is always right and then you know, I get out as fast as possible.”
A Not-So-Complete Separation
Back in July, Umansky and Richards released a joint statement regarding the state of their marriage. Despite the rumors swirling, they remained confident that they would be able to work through their issues.
However, Umansky would later confirm the couple’s separation just a few months later. “We’ve been married for 27 years. We’re having a bit of a rough patch,” he told People in early October. He added, “Sometimes life throws you different things” and “You’ve gotta work through it. She and I currently are separated, but we are not throwing in the towel,” he continued. “We’re not just saying that to say that. We actually are not yet throwing in the towel.”
