What To Know
- Megyn Kelly criticized conspiracy theories surrounding Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
- She told the theorists to present admissible evidence or stop spreading unsubstantiated claims.
- The accused shooter Tyler Robinson is currently attending his preliminary hearing.
Megyn Kelly has had enough of the MAGA conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk‘s assassination and said it’s time for those people to either show their evidence or “shut up.”
The former Fox News host appeared on Sky News Australia on Wednesday (July 8), where she shared her thoughts on the assassination and the accused shooter, 23-year-old Tyler Robinson. Robinson’s preliminary hearing, which began on Monday (July 6), is expected to conclude today (Friday, July 10).
“I mean, the evidence against Robinson is overwhelming,” Kelly said, per Mediaite. “And I realize a lot of people don’t believe it for whatever. There’s a whole bunch of reasons why they don’t believe it. But a jury is more than likely to believe it.”
Kirk was shot and killed in September 2025 while at a speaking event at Utah Valley University. Robinson was later arrested and charged with aggravated murder. However, several conspiracy theories have spread online, with some believing Robinson is a “patsy” and that the real details of the assassination have been covered up.
Kelly dismissed these theories, noting that courtrooms operate on “what is admissible and what isn’t.” She added, “All the stuff around like conspiracy theories and so on and so on… it’s not admissible.”
She went on to address the conspiracy theorists directly, saying, “To those who still have their doubts about Tyler Robinson, I say it’s time to put up or shut up. Either you have evidence that you can introduce under the federal rules of evidence or the state rules out in Utah… or you don’t. And if you don’t, I don’t want to keep talking about your theory because it’s irrelevant. All that’s relevant is what you can prove.”
Kelly quoted a line from the film A Few Good Men, stating, “‘It doesn’t matter what I believe. It only matters what I can prove.’”
“That’s where we are,” she continued. “And there is overwhelming evidence by that standard that Tyler Robinson committed this crime, that he was the trigger man.”
The SiriusXM host admitted that she has an interest in whether others knew about the assassination attempt before it happened, but said the most important thing is making sure Robinson is convicted based on the available evidence.
“Unless there is a jury nullification issue, in other words, somehow you get a juror on there who just won’t vote to convict for whatever reason, he’ll be convicted, and he will likely be sentenced to death,” Kelly concluded. “And I won’t shed one tear.”
