Miley Cyrus has performed for countless fans over the years, including through an alter-ego early in her musical career. However, she recently discussed issues with touring. Since then, she has suggested a possible compromise of sorts.
Miley Cyrus Is Set To Headline Two Upcoming Concerts At The Hollywood Bowl This October
Miley is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. She later gained further fame as “Miley Stewart” on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana from 2006 to 2011.
During this show, Miley famously played a character with a double life as a famous singer. However, she would soon launch a successful music career outside of the show.
Cyrus previously shared that she was walking away from touring. However, she hinted she might not be completely done with performing in front of fans.
During an interview with radio host Zane Lowe, it was noted that Cyrus “would have to do a residency of 80 shows at the Bowl to satisfy the level of demand.” This was in reference to the demand for her upcoming shows at the Hollywood Bowl in October. Reportedly, 1.5 million people queued up for her two upcoming shows at the venue.
Cyrus Felt That Performing In Los Angeles Could Be The Best Of Both Worlds For Her
The singer herself shared, “That’s kind of what my idea was. This is the ultimate dress rehearsal. I’ve learned now through the queue that my calculations are correct and people will come to me. I don’t need to drive to you.”
Cyrus previously spoke about her decision to swear off touring back in 2023 with British Vogue. At the time, she shared, “I can’t. Not only ‘can’t,’ because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?”
At the time, Cyrus admitted that she does appreciate how performing makes her fans happy. However, she personally found the experience “isolating.” She continued, “Singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love. There’s no connection. There’s no safety.”
However, while speaking with Lane, Cyrus admitted that performing in Los Angeles, where she feels at home, is a good compromise. She noted, “Bringing people to L.A. is not only great for me, but it’s great for my city.” She quipped, “This is perfect because people like to see me perform and I like to sleep in my marshmallow bed so we can both be happy.”
