What To Know
- The CW has canceled the broadcasts of the 2026 Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants.
- The Miss USA Organization attributed the cancellation to a contractual issue with production arrangements.
- Both pageants will instead be streamed live on the Queen Beauty Network.
In the latest of many setbacks for Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, The CW has opted not to broadcast the two beauty pageants. The news of that decision comes less than a week before the 2026 Miss USA and Miss Teen USA ceremonies were scheduled to air on the network.
In a statement, The CW did not elaborate on why it canceled the airings. “After careful consideration and conversations with the Miss USA Organization, The CW Network has decided to forego next week’s broadcasts of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants,” the statement reads, per Variety. “We wish the organization and all of this year’s contestants well in the competition.”
A statement the Miss USA Organization released via its Instagram Stories — and USA Today later shared — only said that it was a “contractual issue” with “production arrangements.”
“Since then, our team has worked diligently to explore options that would allow us to continue with a live broadcast on The CW,” the organization added. “Unfortunately, we were unable to reach mutually agreeable terms for this year’s event,” the statement read. “While The CW will not be carrying a live broadcast of Miss USA this year, we are grateful for our relationship with the network and remain open to opportunities to work together in the future.”
The CW had inked a multi-year deal with BDE Miss USA, the owner of the beauty pageants, in June, according to Deadline. The 2026 Miss Teen USA pageant was scheduled to air on The CW on Wednesday, August 26, and this year’s Miss USA pageant was scheduled to air on the network the following night.
Instead, the two ceremonies will stream on Queen Beauty Network as they did last year. “The Queen Beauty Network is proud to step in and support Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, bringing the glamour, excitement, and unforgettable moments of this historic celebration live to fans everywhere,” QBN said in an Instagram post. “Just like last year, QBN is ready to serve the pageant community and bring you closer to every moment.”
