NCIS Recently Finished Season 23 This Past May
NCIS recently debuted its latest season this past October, which itself wrapped up in May. However, fans won’t have to wait too long to see more episodes, as Season 24 is expected to debut this fall.
Meanwhile, fans have been getting some updates about what to expect from the new season. In fact, fans were recently treated to a big announcement regarding the show’s cast lineup.
As previously reported, it was announced that Michael Weatherly would be returning to the show as Tony DiNozzo. This followed the cancellation of NCIS: Tony and Ziva back in December.
Long before this, viewers saw Michael as the character for NCIS‘ first 13 seasons before his 2016 exit. In the interim, Tony was given a cameo on the show during Season 21 in early 2024. Since then, fans have been anticipating his full-time return to the show.
Michael Weatherly Isn’t The Only Figure Returning To The Franchise
Weatherly’s return was announced on the official NCIS Instagram account earlier this month. At the time, the post was captioned, “We’ve missed this one… welcome back, old friend!” According to Variety, DiNozzo’s return won’t be just a cameo, as he is expected to be part of a season-long arc.
However, Weatherly isn’t the only figure making a comeback inside the NCIS universe. Leroy Jethro Gibbs himself, Mark Harmon, will return for a season-long arc on NCIS: Origins’ third season this upcoming fall season. While he already serves as a narrator for the show, this arc will mark an onscreen return for the actor.
