First, there was Beef. Now, there are Pagans. Steven Yeun‘s Emmy-winning partnership with Netflix continues with a new series, the streamer has announced.
Here are all the details about Pagans so far.
What is Pagans about?
The series centers on a widower who cares for his two children, one of whom is potentially disturbed. The logline reads: “Pagans follows a man who becomes the sole caretaker of his two children after the tragic loss of his wife. While his son is typical, his daughter, Alice, is anything but. What starts as a strained father-daughter relationship soon evolves into something far more sinister. Equal parts emotional, horrifying, and humorous, Pagans is a show that unearths all our darkest thoughts about family,” the description reads.
Who stars in Pagans?
So far, Steven Yeun is the only announced cast member for the series. He stars as Gus, the now-single father at the center of the story.
The series boasts Joshua Zetumer as the executive producer and showrunner. Also executive producing the series are Goddard Textiles’ Drew Goddard and Sarah Esberg, Jonathan van Tulleken, Erica Kay, and Yeun for Celedon Pictures, alongside Sandra Oh.
What else is there to know about Pagans?
In 2025, Pagans was at the center of a bidding war after the script from Zetumer attracted the attention of over a dozen bidders, including the ultimate Winner, Netflix. As detailed by Deadline, the speculative script for the project was kept under lock and key with a special app that potential producers could only read for a single day. Once acquired by Netflix, Pagans was ordered straight to series.
