Nicole Kidman has undeniably had a tough year after she ended her marriage to her husband, Keith Urban. Now, she’s starting to talk about what she once kept private. Keep reading to find out just how she’s holding up after her 20-year marriage came to an end.
Nicole Kidman Gets A Divorce
In 2005, Nicole Kidman met her future husband, Keith Urban. The pair seemingly had a wonderful, happy marriage as it lasted two decades before ending in 2025. The pair filed in 2025 but finalized it in January of this year. During their time together, Nicole and Keith shared two children. Their first, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, was born in 2008. Her sister, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, was born two years later, in 2010.

The reason for the happy couple’s failed marriage still remains somewhat of a mystery to fans. The divorce documents themselves say that the marriage ended due to “irreconcilable differences.” However, what those differences actually are has yet to be revealed.
Time heals all wounds, though, and Nicole is starting to open up more and more about her life post-divorce.
Opening Up About Her Life Post Divorce
According to Yahoo!, on a recent episode of her podcast, Nicole talked about her divorce. She reveals that now that she and Keith have split, she actually views love differently.
“If you can move towards, ‘OK, it’s not this type of love, now it’s this love,’ I just think it’s a much easier place to operate from,” she starts.
“It can be very hard,” she says. Nicole continues, explaining, “But it’s like a soothing balm if you can get there.”
Sandra Bullock, also on the episode, agrees.
“When I hear love, my mind does not go to an intimate relationship with someone of the opposite sex.”
Sandra understands Nicole well as she lost her partner, Bryan Randall, in 2023. He died from ALS. While they were not technically married, they did share Sandra’s two adopted children and Bryan’s biological child.
“I immediately go to, ‘What am I feeling right now?’ What’s sitting in my chest, what makes me feel loving,” she explains.
While Nicole shared a little bit about her divorce and how she’s feeling on the podcast, she still really chooses to keep her feelings about it all to herself. Only time will tell if she becomes more open about why the marriage ended. After all, sometimes time is all it takes. Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley are a good example of that.
