Rick Harrison Has Been Part Of Pawn Stars Since Its Debut In 2009
Rick became known to many through the History reality series, Pawn Stars. He and his father, Richard Benjamin Harrison, opened their Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in 1989.
The series, which premiered back in 2009, has been one of the network’s highest-rated shows. Over the years, it has inspired a few localized spin-offs around the world, including in the U.K., Australia, and South Africa.
Recently, news has come out that Rick underwent emergency surgery. As he is recovering in the hospital, a spokesperson has shared an update on him.
Speaking with People, the rep shared, “He went in for a simpler procedure, and they found he needed a bypass. He is resting comfortably and looking forward to a full recovery. He is grateful for the doctors and staff at the hospital and that his wife and family can be with him during this time.” Rick was described as recovering in the hospital.
Rick’s son, Corey, Was Hospitalized Earlier This Year Following A Motorcycle Crash
Reportedly, Rick needed emergency surgery after he went to the hospital. He had previously thought that he just needed a simple stent procedure. However, extensive surgery was needed.
At this time, it is unclear on how this could impact the show going forward. Recently, the show saw Season 24 make its debut earlier this year, with its most recent airing being in March.
This isn’t the only recent health issue impacting the family. As previously reported, this takes place after Rick’s son, Corey, was hospitalized in January after a motorcycle crash. He had 11 breaks in his ribcage, among other issues. It is believed that Corey no longer plans to appear on the show, with reports claiming that the show would return without him in early 2027.
