On Friday, July 10, the short clip elicited a strong reaction from fans after he was killed off in the Season 8 episode “Lab Rats,” which aired in April 2025.

“Ah, bonjour,” Krause, 60, said in the clip while wearing a jacket and a ski cap in the woods. “La vie est belle.” This translates to, “Hello, life is good.”

He continued, “Mais c’est la mort il rendre comme ça. Comme le [bœuf?], le baiser, et les enfants,” which roughly translates to, “But it is death that makes it like this, like [the ox?], the kiss, and the children.”

In English, he added, “Maybe this will help my pronunciation,” before taking a sip of wine. “Viva la France!” (“Long live France!”) The end of the clip showed fans erupting into cheers after seeing Krause’s video.

In the Instagram comments, 9-1-1 fans also rejoiced over the unexpected message, with one joking, “I don’t speak French, but I’m pretty sure he said, ‘I’ll be back in season 10. See you soon! Viva la France.’”

Another quipped, “Bobby faking his own death and going to be a forest man confirmed,” as a third declared, “He escaped the lab. Someone go find him in that forest.”

Someone else suggested, “New plot, Bobby got amnesia and ended up French.”

A different fan commented, “I loved the way everyone was too stunned to speak in that room when they showed us this, and I also loved that you managed to keep it a secret from the rest of the cast cause they were just as excited about this as we were! TYSM.”

Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user pointed out, “We never saw a body, it’s not too late to bring him back.”

Krause played Bobby Nash in Seasons 1 through 8 of 9-1-1. Halfway through Season 8, he was killed by a fatal virus while trapped in a biolab explosion in a heroic sacrifice to save his team.
