Pride and Prejudice is getting a new look at Netflix, which is bringing Jane Austen’s iconic characters to life in a limited series adaptation. There’s been plenty of buzz since Dolly Alderton announced that she was creating a new — but faithful — version of the story for the screen. There was even more chatter amongst Austenheads when the first look at Emma Corrin‘s Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden‘s Mr. Darcy was revealed.
Ahead of the series’ December 3 premiere, the streamer has shared photos of nearly all the actors in costume as their famous characters, including Jane (Freya Mavor) and Mr. Bingley (Daryl McCormack). Not only has Swooon rounded up all of those first-look glimpses, but we’ve also done a deep dive into the Pride and Prejudice stars’ backgrounds before they signed on to such an enormous project. Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet
Corrin, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, is no stranger to a Netflix period drama. The 30-year-old English actor is most famous for playing Princess Diana in Netflix’s The Crown Season 4. They’ve also appeared in romantic historical dramas like My Policeman and Lady Chatterley’s Lover before portraying the sharp, independent Elizabeth Bennet. Off-screen, Corrin was most recently romantically linked to Slow Horses actor Zachary Hart after their previous relationship with Rami Malek.

Jack Lowden as Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy
Lowden is taking on the prickly, but eventually swoonworthy, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy. Lowden is a 36-year-old Scottish actor who started out on stage before launching his film and TV career. He’s best known for starring as River in Apple TV’s Slow Horses, which has earned him critical acclaim. He, too, has period drama experience, with roles in films like Mary Queen of Scots and Dunkirk. The actor married Saoirse Ronan in 2024, and they had their first child about a year later.

Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet
Freya Mavor plays Jane Bennet, Lizzie’s sister and closest confidant. You might recognize the actress from HBO’s Industry, or as Mini McGuinness in Skins. The 33-year-old Scottish actress also appeared in My Policeman alongside Corrin. Just ahead of Pride and Prejudice, Mavor had a role in BBC’s Marie Antoinette series. She’s in a relationship with British sculptor Finn Thomson.

Daryl McCormack as Mr. Charles Bingley

Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet
Olivia Colman has been tapped to play the tiresome, marriage-minded Bennet mother. Period drama fans will likely recall that the 52-year-old Brit won an Oscar in 2019 for her role as Queen Anne in The Favourite. She has a number of TV roles under her belt, too, including Netflix’s The Crown, BBC’s Beautiful People, Prime Video’s Fleabag, and BBC’s The Night Manager.

Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet
Rufus Sewell most recently starred in Netflix’s The Diplomat. The British actor, who plays the witty and detached Bennet patriarch, has a decades-long career, with credits in A Knight’s Tale, The Legend of Zorro, The Holiday, and more. The 58-year-old is married to actress Vivian Benitez, who is 30 years younger than him. They wed in 2024. He has one child, actor Billy Sewell, from a previous relationship.

Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet
Heartstopper‘s Rhea Norwood, 25, is playing the impulsive, naïve Lydia Bennet. The upcoming Pride and Prejudice is her second TV credit. Norwood, who hails from England, has appeared in a several movies, including 2023’s Consent. She played Sally Bowles in the West End’s Cabaret in 2024.

Jamie Demetriou as Mr. William Collins
Yet another Fleabag alum is on the Pride and Prejudice cast list. Jamie Demetriou is playing the awkward distant cousin of the Bennets, Mr. Collins. The 38-year-old British actor is best known for leading Stath Lets Flats, which earned him a BAFTA Award.

British actress Hollie Avery is making her acting debut as Kitty, one of the younger, sillier members of the Bennet family.

Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet
Hopey Parish landed the role of Mary Bennet shortly after graduating from the Manchester School of Theatre in 2025, so she’ll also make her professional acting debut with Pride and Prejudice.
