The fictional town of Serenity and its inhabitants have had Sweet Magnolias viewers in a chokehold since the show premiered in 2020. Now, all 10 episodes of Season 5 are about to drop on June 11, and fans are already looking ahead to what’s next for leading ladies Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Helen (Heather Headley), and Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott).
Sweet Magnolias explores the lives of the three women, who have been friends since their childhood days in Serenity. Through all of the ups, downs, and changes they’ve gone through, they’ve always been there for each other.

Is Sweet Magnolias returning for Season 6?
At this point, the future of Sweet Magnolias is unclear. Netflix will likely make a decision about whether it’s renewed or canceled based on how Season 5 performs.
Swisher told TV Insider, though, that she’s hopeful for another installment. “There’s still more life to live together,” she teased.
And while she noted that getting to do five seasons has been “incredible,” she added, “I’m just kind of in this really interesting moment of utter gratitude for this experience and … there would be no greater joy than to do another season and really wrap it up in a beautiful way.”
When does Sweet Magnolias Season 6 premiere?
There will be no premiere confirmation until the show gets an official renewal. In the past, the seasons have premiered about a year and a half apart, so if that stays the course, Season 6 would likely come out in early 2028.
Who is in the Sweet Magnolias Season 6 cast?
There is no Sweet Magnolias without the three leading ladies. If the show comes back, Swisher, Headley, and Elliott would be shoo-ins to return. And while we still have to wait and see what happens in Season 5, it’s likely that all three of their respective partners, Cal (Justin Bruening), Erik (Dion Johnstone), and Ronnie (Brandon Quinn), would also be part of the cast.
The biggest mystery would be whether Carson Rowland, who plays Maddie’s eldest son, Ty, would return. Rowland is not in Season 5 and has not commented on his future with the show.
More specific casting information will be revealed if Sweet Magnolias gets an official renewal.
