Premiere Date, Coaches, and More Updates

- Advertisment -

The Voice Season 30 hasn’t even premiered yet, but NBC has already dropped major details about the upcoming 31st season. Just over a month after the company that sells tickets for tapings of the show revealed that the Season 31 Blind Auditions filmed at the end of June, the network confirmed that the show has been renewed and more about what we can expect.

Like Season 29, which aired in spring 2026 and had a “Battle of Champions” theme, Season 31 will be an “eventized” season. It is officially called The Voice: Celebrity and will feature celebrities, rather than unknown entities, competing to become the next champion.

Scroll down for everything we know so far about what to expect, including who the three coaches and new host will be.

When does The Voice Season 31 premiere?

A premiere date has not been revealed yet, but NBC confirmed that it’s coming back in 2027. The spring seasons generally premiere in mid-February or early March.

It’s unclear whether Seasons 31 will be entirely pre-taped like Season 29, or if the Live Shows will return.

Who are the coaches for The Voice Season 31?

The coaches are Queen Latifah, Riley Green, and Joe Jonas. Queen Latifah and Green are making their debuts as coaches in Season 30, while Season 31 will be Jonas’ first time coaching the U.S. version of the show (he previously coached on the Australia version in 2018.)

Seasons 29 and 31 are the only two seasons of The Voice with three coaches instead of four. This is due to the shorter programming window due to NBC’s airing of NBA games in the spring. With a shorter season and less contestants, a fourth coach would make the teams too small, so only three were needed.

Who is hosting The Voice Season 31?

For the first time in The Voice history, Carson Daly is not returning to host. Instead, Keke Palmer will serve as the host of Season 31.

The U.S. Sun recently reported that Daly decided to take a step back from The Voice to spend more time on the East Coast, where he works on the Today show and is raising four children with his wife.

Who are the celebrity contestants on The Voice Season 31?

The actual list of contestants won’t be revealed until a later date, but NBC teased that the group consists of “actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars.”

Per an NBC press release, there will be new additions to the competition, as well. The show “will offer unprecedented access to artists throughout the competition as viewers watch familiar faces step outside their comfort zones and reveal new sides of themselves.  New features, such as  Voice Boot Camp, give viewers a behind-the-scenes look as celebrities prepare for their fan-favorite Blind Auditions, while the VIP Room brings artists together to watch their fellow celebrities take The Voice stage in real time.”
