North of North, Netflix‘s Canadian import, has wrapped filming and is setting its return to TV… in Canada. As fans may know, the comedy is a co-production with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), in partnership with APTN, and they’ve just revealed when fans in Canada will be able to tune in, giving us some hint that its Netflix arrival can’t be too far behind.

Has North of North been renewed for Season 2?
Yes, North of North was renewed for a second season following its arrival on the platform in April 2025. “When I got the call from Alethea, Stacey, and Miranda about North of North being renewed for a second season, my heart exploded in the best way possible! I’m so excited and overwhelmed with joy, I can’t wait to head back to Ice Cove!” series star Anna Lambe shared in a statement to Netflix’s Tudum.

Does North of North Season 2 have a premiere date?
North of North‘s Season 2 doesn’t have a premiere date on Netflix yet, but it is expected to arrive on the streamer later this year, as a 2026 premiere was previously revealed. Since then, CBC’s official listings tease that fans in Canada will be able to tune into new episodes beginning on Tuesday, September 8. While this date has been set in Canada, it doesn’t mean fans will be able to stream in tandem on Netflix. Season 1’s release on CBC took place in January 2025, and the episodes didn’t begin streaming on Netflix until April of that year. But, again, as mentioned above, North of North Season 2 is expected to debut on the streamer this year, so keep an eye out of an official date announcement from Netflix.

Season 2 of North of North will see the return of Lambe in her leading role as Siaja alongside Maika Harper, Braeden Clarke, Jay Ryan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Zorga Qaunaq, Bailey Poching, Nutaaq Doreen Simmonds, and Kiera Cooper.
What will North of North Season 2 be about?
North of North‘s second season continues the story of Siaja, a young Inuk woman who exits her marriage very publicly with the desire to change her life. In Season 1, Siaja meets her father, Alistair (Ryan), discovers through her mother, Neevee (Harper), that she has a sister somewhere else in the world, and she connects with Kuuk (Clarke), who happens to have a girlfriend… According to Season 2’s logline, her day-to-day life as a young Inuk mother finds Siaja attempting to build her new life in the tiny Arctic community of Ice Cove.
