After more than two decades of taking players on a sprawling adventure through Disney worlds, Kingdom Hearts: The Series is finally making the leap from video games to television.
Developed in partnership with Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura and the creative team at Square Enix, the series will expand the lore of the video game universe while bringing back the characters that have captivated millions around the world.

When will Kingdom Hearts premiere?
The official Kingdom Hearts anime TV series was announced by Disney during the D23 Expo on August 14, 2026. An exact premiere date has not yet been set, though it is expected to debut on Disney+ and Disney Channel.

What is the Kingdom Hearts game about?
Kingdom Hearts is a role-playing video game series created by Square Enix and Disney. The story centers on Sora, a boy who wields a powerful weapon known as the Keyblade. After his home is destroyed by mysterious creatures called the Heartless, Sora sets out to find his missing friends, Riku and Kairi.
Joined by Disney characters Donald Duck and Goofy, Sora travels across worlds inspired by Disney and Pixar films, battling the forces of darkness and teaming up with familiar faces along the way. His adventures include folks from the worlds of Hercules, Aladdin, Toy Story, and Frozen, to name a few.
Recently, Sora will venture into the afterlife with an expansion into the world of Coco in Kingdom Hearts IV.
