Popular televised game shows like The Price is Right have strict rules for the audience. One rule is that no one on the show is supposed to bring a phone into the studio when watching. This is because there are rules against recording the episode while it plays, and it is easier to ban phones from coming in.
However, in a recent episode of the show, a man was caught on his phone while sitting in the audience.
Man Caught Using Phone On The Price Is Right
On a recent Price is Right episode, the camera caught a man getting called down to the Contestant’s Row. However, one thing that at least one fan caught was a man sitting two rows in front of the new contestant. That man had his phone out and was either looking at a video or recording what was happening on the show.

It is against the game show rules to have a phone in there at all. Recording anything during the game is also against policy, even if a phone is snuck in. Someone shared this moment on Reddit, where they wrote, “Did anyone else notice? Someone snuck a phone into the studio. Which is not allowed during tapings.”
This led to people mentioning how he possibly got the phone in there during the game show:
- “VIP or guest of the production crew. Not an eligible contestant. Probably shouldn’t have their phone out on camera, though.”
- “Some VIP guests may be allowed to have their phone in the studio, however having it out on camera is ridiculous.”
- “They take your phone right before you go in the studio. But before while waiting in line, and after leaving the studio you have access to your phone.”
Phones In The Studios Are Prohibited
Interestingly, this is a rule for most game shows. It is in place for players and the audience on everything from The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune to Jeopardy!

There was one Jeopardy! player named Corey Anotado, who shared a story once about how the players received an N95 mask, hand sanitizer, and alcohol wipes after the COVID-19 pandemic. They were then ushered into the Wheel of Fortune soundstage to wait for their turns on Jeopardy! However, they were given strict rules.
“This is our staging area: we put our things down in the audience seating, we were briefed on rules and legal things, we were told to put our phones away after I sneak this picture of the Wheel of Fortune set with the lights off,” he said. It sounds like they don’t like pics taken even when the show is not filming.
