‘Price Is Right’ Drew Carey Welcomes ‘Future Star’ To Show

TV Shows

Drew Carey has become very good at talking to the contestants on The Price is Right and learning more about them. That happened again this last week when a guy ran up onto the stage, and Drew realized he might be talking to a “future star.”

Here is what he said to the guy and how the game ended up going.

Drew Carey Meets A ‘Future Star’ On Price Is Right

Drew Carey always has small talk planned out for many of the players on The Price is Right. When the people make it to the stage, he asks small questions. He then has something he can chat about before introducing the game. On a recent episode, he seemed a little impressed with the guy’s answer.

Drew introduced the winner of the first bidding to the stage for his chance to win more at the next big game. This contestant was Malcolm. Drew asked where he was from, and Malcolm said he was from Baltimore, Maryland, but was raised in New York City.

When asked about visiting California, Malcolm said he was there for a “quick table read.” This means he was doing a read for a possible role in either a movie, TV show, or possible play. This was something that impressed Drew, who then responded by saying, “What’s up, future star?”

The guy stayed low-key and just said, “just working.” This led Drew to say that he should pretend he loves money because that was what he could win on his game – Half Off.

How Did Malcolm Do On The Price Is Right?

Half Off gives players a chance to win money by making some guesses and then getting a chance for the grand prize. There are six items on the stand. For each pair, one is half off the actual price, and he has to figure out which is half off and which is not.

There were 16 boxes on the stage as well. Every time that Malcolm guessed right on the half-off item, half the boxes would disappear. There were three pairs, so if he guessed right all three times, it would drop to eight boxes, four boxes, and finally two boxes.

Malcolm got all three guesses right, so only two boxes were left. However, he had to pick one of the boxes. One had $10,000 in it, and the other was empty. The good news is that since he got all three guesses right, he won $1,000, so he wouldn’t go home empty-handed.

However, the best news was that he guessed the right box and also won $10,000. Even if he didn’t get the acting role he was in town to read for, he still went home a winner.
