Another Housewives Cancer Journey
Over the years, several Real Housewives have had cancer and shared their journey and stories. RHOM star Guerdy Abraira is a breast cancer survivor, while RHOBH alum Teddi Mellencamp had skin cancer. Sadly, it metastasized into lung and brain cancer, and she has been fighting for over a year. RHOD star D’Andra Simmons also had breast cancer, while Monyetta Shaw-Carter of RHOA fame was diagnosed with stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma. Now, another former wife is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer and is sharing their journey with fans and followers.
Braunwyn Windham-Burke, who appeared on two seasons of RHOC, revealed that she was diagnosed with skin cancer. She was first diagnosed at the age of 19 with malignant melanoma. This led to radiation, and Braunwyn now has a scar from what she went through. Since then, she has been overly cautious and noticed two spots on her face. There was one on her nose and one on her forehead, so she began using a chemo cream for a month. This will bring out any pre-cancerous spots, but she knows that it can be hard to look at her.
She noted that she is no longer in the sun and encourages everyone to wear sunscreen. Some followers feel that this is a tad too extreme and she should do a shorter course. However, the former Real Housewives star is committed to this journey and won’t stop. Despite the criticism, others have praised Braunwyn Windham-Burke and noted that they can see this as their future.
