Just like other actors such as Melissa McCarthy and Jonah Hill, when you’re carrying a few extra pounds in Hollywood, you’re automatically lumped into comic relief roles. The sidekick to the good-looking leads, the Zach Galifianakis to Bradley Cooper in The Hangover films.
This is exactly what happened with Rebel Wilson. Her role as Fat Amy may have put her on the map, but, she also didn’t want to stay there forever.

Since her Pitch Perfect days, Rebel Wilson is a completely different person. At 44, she shed a lot of weight, and she looks completely different now than when many people first met her. She is a lot healthier and happier now, but, it wasn’t an easy road for her to get to this point in her life.
Rebel Wilson achieved her weight loss goals using the tried and true approach of combining healthy eating with exercise and other healthier lifestyle changes. In 2020 alone, Wilson dropped a whopping 77 pounds. She has had the occasional hiccup or backslide here and there, but, since losing the weight, she has succeeded in keeping it off.
Rebel Wilson Speaks Out On Controversial Diet Drug Ozempic
With diet drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro being all the rage right now among the who’s who in Hollywood, Rebel Wilson recently talked about her own experience using Ozempic. According to the actor, she said: “Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good.”
Wilson no longer uses the injectable medication, however, it’s clear she isn’t completely throwing it under the bus, nor those who use it. These types of drugs have proven to help people drop the pounds. As another example, Whoopi Goldberg admitted to using Mounjaro when she couldn’t breathe at 300 pounds. Since then, she has slimmed down considerably as well.
For Rebel Wilson, she wanted to slim down to improve her chances of being successful with IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). She welcomed a daughter via surrogate in 2022. Wilson also admitted that many people were against her losing weight because of the impact it would have on her career as the “fat funny character.”
Rebel Wilson seems to have done rather well for herself since dropping the pounds. She may not use Ozempic anymore, but, unlike many, she is at least open about her past use of the diet drug, and it’s this honesty from her in Hollywood that her many fans find refreshing.
