Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama got sentimental as their son celebrated a special day.
On Wednesday, June 3, the Renovation Aloha stars took to social media to celebrate their son Vale’s 8th birthday. “Our son, You are such a joy and blessing. You are so smart, kind, ambitious, talented, and head strong,” the couple wrote via their joint Instagram page. “You make us proud everyday. Lord, please slow down time..we can’t believe it’s been 8 years with you!”
They concluded the birthday tribute by writing, “Happy Birthday. Love your parents.” The post featured a montage of clips of Vale with family and friends from over the years. Fans flooded the post’s comments with their own birthday wishes for Vale, including the couple’s Battle on the Beach costar Mika Kleinschmidt, who wrote, “Hope he has the best birthday ever! hold on tight. It goes so fast.”
One user commented, “Happy Birthday to the cutest kid with your big kind heart & his Momma’s beautiful eyes. enjoy the wonder years.. they speed by in a flash.” Another added, “Happy 8th Birthday!!!! Have fun celebrating!!!”
Someone else shared, “You have the most adorable kids. Happy Birthday to him and big hug from my kids.” A different person posted, “Happy Birthday. Such a sweet adorable young man!” A separate commenter stated, “Happy Birthday little guy many Blessings to you.”
Tristyn and Kamohai have been married since 2016. Vale is the younger of the couple’s two children, along with their daughter, Yasiel.
In a Tuesday Instagram Story video, Tristyn and Kamohai kicked off Vale’s 8th birthday by surprising him with a special donut for breakfast. “We have an 8 year old today,” they captioned the upload.
The Kalamas later reposted an Instagram Story video that their sister-in-law, Taylor Haxton, shared of the family celebrating Vale’s birthday at a hibachi restaurant. “Celebrating our bubba boy,” Haxton captioned the clip of the group singing to Vale.
Last month, the couple shared several photos of themselves and their kids via Instagram for Mother’s Day. In another holiday post, Kamohai took fans along as he and the kids prepared their Mother’s Day gifts for Tristyn.

The trio ended up “rushing” to put their presents together and hide them, as Tristyn returned home shortly after their shopping spree. Their gifts included a Roomba vacuum, a bouquet of red roses, and a Happy Mother’s Day balloon, the latter of which was a joke gift, as Kamohai said Tristyn “hates balloons.”
The video flashed forward to the family surprising Tristyn with their gifts on Mother’s Day. “I love you guys,” Tristyn gushed as she read the kids’ homemade poster, which was decorated with several candy bars.
