RHOC star Alexis Bellino is making major changes to her appearance. Keep reading to find out what she did and why she did it!
Alexis Bellino Changing Her Face
As people age, things about them start to change. It’s no shock that some people, especially reality TV stars, like to slow down that process to keep themselves looking young. Alexis Bellino is one of those people. The star ended up having a facelift. Why? Because other women around her age and a little older did it too.
“Why I went down this path is [because] a couple of my friends that are a decade older than me both had it done at 49, and they look amazing at 60. I kind of feel like, learn from people that are older and wiser than me,” she says.
However, not everyone was on board with the idea.
Fighting With Her Kids
While Alexis loves her new look, apparently, her husband and her kids were not too keen on the idea. However, she just wants them to wait until they are older because they will probably want the same thing done for them.
“They said, ‘Mom, please come on. Jesus Jugs, we’ve had enough of you and your stuff.’ And so I just said, ‘Guys, you’ll get it when you’re 50,’” she says according to Reality Blurb!.
She also adds that now that it’s done, her kids and husband love it. So, ultimately, she can make these decisions for herself.
“My kids and husband all fought me on this decision saying ‘mom/wife you don’t need it, please don’t do it, what can we do to talk you out of it……’ But look at the results!!!! And now my husband and kids are all so happy with the results!!!!!! And truth is, it’s MY decision, not theirs. I’m turning 50 yrs in January (in 6 months) so this was my half year “happy birthday” to myself,” she explains.
Facing Backlash
Of course, having a major surgery like this doesn’t come without some backlash, especially when you’re in the public eye. That’s exactly what Alexis is dealing with. However, she’s handling it like a pro and seemingly not letting the comments get to her. However, she also notes that she didn’t use to be able to take hate as well as she can now.
“I think a decade or two ago I would’ve been affected by comments, and now I just don’t care,” she explains.
At the end of the day, she is who she is, and she’s proud of that.
“You’re just like, ‘Okay, take it, or leave it. This is who I am.’ You know who you love; your circle is very small. I want women to feel empowered,” she says. “I don’t wear makeup now when I go out. I don’t worry about my laugh lines. If I feel better, then why not? That’s what the doctors are here for.”
